Nestled in the heart of South Dakota, the Badlands has a special place in my heart. Badlands National Park is completely open, so you can walk, hike, and climb anywhere. You can also fall off of anywhere – so be sure to employ common sense when exploring.
I love the Badlands, and have visited 4 times so far. I’ve been hiking, camping, and fossil prospecting (see the bottom for some of my finds) throughout the park. Back in 2017, I captured my first successful night sky photos in this park.
